Meet Liz Glushko, the creative force behind The Lizness, a live music business bringing something refreshingly different to Dunedin’s event scene.

After more than 15 years teaching music in New York City and Dunedin, Liz felt pulled in a new direction. She stepped away from the classroom to focus fully on performance and connection, using music as a way to create shared moments that feel personal and memorable. That shift led to the launch of The Lizness, which officially debuted in April 2025.

At the heart of Liz’s work is the electric cello and the art of live looping. Every performance is created in real time with no backing tracks, no laptop, and no safety net. Liz builds each song layer by layer on the spot, blending classical roots with jazz, 80s pop, and modern favorites. The result is live music that feels familiar but unexpected, making each performance completely unique.

The Lizness is a great fit for private events, intimate gatherings, wine tastings, breweries, corporate events, and festivals. Because nothing is pre recorded, no two shows are ever the same. Guests get to watch the music come together in the moment, which often makes people stop, listen, and really take it in.

Dunedin was a natural choice for Liz. She lives here and loves being part of a city that supports art, music, and community connection. Performing locally allows her to contribute to events and spaces in a meaningful way while staying rooted in the place she calls home.

Through her work, Liz hopes to spark curiosity and connection. Her goal is to show that live music can feel both comfortable and new, bridging styles and generations while creating experiences that stay with people long after the last note.

You can find The Lizness at 303 Main Street, Suite G in Dunedin.
